Where is Marmora Retreat located?
Marmora Retreat is located in the Municipality of Marmora and Lake, roughly the halfway point between Ottawa and Toronto.
How many bedrooms does Marmora Retreat have? And what are sleeping arrangements like?
5 bedrooms. Upstairs there's a king, queen, and 4 twins (2 of which are twin xl, but regular twin sheets work fine). In the basement, there are 4 double over single bunk beds, as well as a double pull-out sofa.
How many people does Marmora Retreat sleep?
Currently, we are able to comfortably accommodate up to 22 guests. Stay tuned for more in the future as we continue to grow and expand our business operations. For those curious, we're currently looking at getting a couple of outdoor bunkies for those who like immersing in nature.
How many bathrooms?
The cottage boasts two 4-piece bathrooms (one in the master suite, the other in the basement) and one powder room which also doubles as the laundry area.
Winter plowing?
Yes, we do have winter plowing and shoveling.
Are pets allowed?
Absolutely – we would like to know about your pets before approval. Additional costs may apply (thorough cleaning for upcoming guests who may or may not have allergies).
Check-in and check-out time?
Check-in is 4 pm and check-out is at 10 am. We can't stop our cleaner, she is a cleaning machine!
Do you provide any watercraft?
Yes. The perfect waterfront retreat is incomplete without kayaks and paddleboards. We do have 1 tin boat, 1 solo kayak, 1 tandem kayak, and a 1 4-man canoe, and 1 stand-up paddleboard. We have several on-site and you may use the life jackets we provide. However, you are encouraged to bring your own due to the times we live in.
What are your attractions?
Attractions are varied and plenty within and beyond Marmora Retreat. We do have seasonal on-site activities for all of our guests. There's something for everyone.

Do you provide beddings and towels?
Only fitted sheets and pillowcases. Kindly bring your own blankets and linens as well as towels (bath and kitchen towels). Your health and general well-being matter to us and it is our top priority to keep Marmora Retreat as safe as possible by enforcing health and safety procedures. What is your cancellation policy?
Reach out to us immediately. Re-booking may be possible (subject to availability on the Marmora Retreat calendar, please inform us ahead of time).
Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.
Damage deposit and how do we get it back?
As a policy, your damage deposit will be returned within 14 days but you can expect it to be released sooner. Upon inspection (usually right after your check-out), you will be notified of any back charges prior to the return of your security deposit. As a general rule, the security deposit we will hold on to covers: smoking penalty (we do not allow smoking indoors and you will be back charged $250 if we find cigarette butts in the property) and any form of property damage (damages due to carelessness & misuse, vandalism). Damages are documented by our cleaner and in the event back charges must be done, we will notify you of the material and service cost required prior to releasing the rest of the security deposit. Please treat Marmora Retreat like your own home as it is a second home to some of our repeat guests. We want to ensure that all our guests -- past, present, and future -- enjoy the same Marmora Retreat everyone has come to love!
