Finding your way to Marmora Retreat is surprisingly simple. Tucked away on 24 peaceful acres in Eastern Ontario, our retreat feels worlds apart, yet it’s just a scenic drive from Toronto, Ottawa, Kingston, or Montreal. The road here is as relaxing as the stay itself.

Navigation Tips & Arrival

Marble Point Road is a quiet, paved country lane just north of Hwy 7. Look for our clearly marked driveway entrance.

When You Arrive:

  • Farmhouse guests can park near the main building.

  • Glamping dome guests will see signs guiding you to your dome.

  • Self-check-in details are sent before your stay.

Seasonal Travel Notes:

  • Spring/Summer: Ideal driving weather; weekends are popular, so plan your timing.

  • Fall: Highway 7 becomes a canvas of colour — it’s one of the best drives of the year.

  • Winter: The retreat is open year-round. Roads are plowed and accessible; winter tires are recommended. Check ontario511.ca for updates before you travel.

 

From Toronto to Marmora
Your 2-Hour Escape

Distance: ~190 km | Drive Time: 2–2.5 hours

Just two hours stand between city streets and open countryside. Here’s the smoothest route:

  • Take Highway 401 East toward Kingston.

  • Exit at Highway 37 North (Exit 544 in Belleville). Watch for signs to Tweed/Belleville.

  • Follow Highway 37 North through Tweed — a great place to stretch your legs or pick up supplies.

  • At Actinolite, merge onto Highway 7 East (where 37 meets 7).

  • Stay on Highway 7 through the town of Marmora.

  • Turn left onto Marble Point Road, just north of town.

  • Look for our entrance at 354 Marble Point Road on your right.

Ottawa to Marmora
Take The Scenic Route

Distance: ~220 km | Drive Time: 2.5–3 hours

Leave the city behind and let the countryside take over:

  • Start on Highway 417 West, then merge onto Highway 7 West — your main route for the trip.

  • Cruise through Perth and Sharbot Lake, both lovely spots to stop for coffee or a lakeside photo.

  • Continue west on Highway 7 into Marmora.

  • Turn left onto Marble Point Road, just past the town centre.

  • You’ll find Marmora Retreat on the right at 354 Marble Point Road.

The drive is full of winding views, small-town character, and calm — a fitting lead-up to your retreat.

Kingston & Montreal Routes

From Kingston (~140 km, 2–2.5 hours):

Head West on Highway 401, exit at Highway 37 North (Exit 544), and follow the same directions as the Toronto route from there. It’s a relaxed drive with lighter traffic — perfect for spontaneous getaways.

From Montreal (~400 km, 4–4.5 hours):

Take Highway 417 West past Ottawa, then follow the Ottawa route via Highway 7 West through Perth and Sharbot Lake to Marmora. Plan for a day’s journey, with plenty of scenic breaks along the way.
