Alpaca Encounters
This is where Marmora Retreat truly stands out. Our resident alpacas aren’t just part of the landscape, they’re part of the experience. We host feeding sessions that let guests get up close and interact with these gentle animals. Kids are always thrilled, and adults usually end up just as smitten.
You’re welcome to visit the alpacas throughout your stay, especially in the cooler parts of the day. And if you’re here mid-summer, you might even meet a few spring-born crias – baby alpacas still curious about everything around them.
Wellness & Outdoor Recreation
Summer is the perfect time to make the most of our outdoor wellness spaces. Try a session in the cedar sauna followed by a refreshing cold plunge, or unwind in one of our portable steam pods if you prefer a gentler heat.
On 24 acres, there’s always room to explore: walk quiet trails, enjoy morning coffee in shaded corners, or gather around a fire pit when the evening cools.
When rain rolls in, the farmhouse games room offers pool, ping pong, fitness equipment, and our bubble ball field brings a bit of playful energy back to any group.
Lake Access & Activities
Farmhouse Guests Only
Walk down to our dock on a large bay of the Crowe River and soak in the view. Mornings are usually calm, perfect for kayaking or canoeing before the breeze picks up. Paddle over to the swimming area just past the lily pads, or up river to Crowe lake.
If fishing’s your thing, bass and panfish are active all summer long. Bring your tackle or just bring a coffee. The dock’s a great spot to sit, watch the water, and let time slow down.
